Rebuilding Together Howard County celebrated its 25th Anniversary on Thursday, June 15th. The party was held at Wilde Lake Inter-faith Center in Columbia Maryland from 5:00 to 8:00 with Richard Story as our master of ceremony. That evening Edward Hamel, President of Hamel Builders, and Steve Kendall, owner of Kendalls Hardware, were recognized as outstanding contributors. John Startt, board member and past President of the Rebuilding Together Board of Directors, provided a retrospective presentation summarizing the first 25 years of the organization.

Howard County Executive, Allan Kittleman, spoke about his personal volunteer experience and strong support of Rebuilding Together’s mission of revitalizing communities. He presented the organization with a Certificate of Recognition to acknowledge outstanding efforts to serve the needs of others in Howard County.

Gail Bates, Maryland State Senator, also spoke about her role in 1992 forming the original board of directors of the Rebuilding Together organization under the direction of then County Executive, Jim Robey. Gail brought an Official Citation from the Maryland General Assembly signed by all the members of the Howard County Delegation congratulating Rebuilding Together Howard County on their 25th Anniversary Celebration and their commitment to providing free home repairs to low income homeowners in Howard County.
